I think it's an excellent pedal...as close as you can get to an original Mutron III (which is the gold standard of envelope filters). The new Qtron + has a smaller footprint and is true bypass. Warm, organic sounding pedal

I use one on bass all the time, it goes to every gig!

Only drawback is volume spikes, but they aren't bad.

I recently picked up a Q-tron+ XO and I really enjoy it. I've put up a two-part review of it on YouTube (I'm a bassist as well):

It's a great pedal, there's a bit of a learning curve once you get it, because you have to attack the strings a bit differently sometimes to get the sounds you want to get.

That's the latest version of the Q-tron, the Q-tron+ XO (the XO pedals are smaller than their previous incarnations). I got it at Musician's Friend when they were having a sale.

i haven't tried one myself, but listened to lots of clips. it sounds like a pretty good EF, but I think the Ep-1 is much more mutronish.

Amazing bass tones Bryan! Reminds me of some of the tones Flea gets. I wonder if anyone has some guitar soundclips/demos?

I've been looking into the Emma, are there any good soundclips?

the EP-1 is definitely more mutron-ish than the qtron. the EP-1 is so incredibly dynamic, and the swell of the envelope is so warm and incredible sounding
