Does it light up at all? Check the fuse? Check the speaker connections?

Those amps use a single IC for the output stage. Chances are it blew. I've replaced these before.

Here's a link to the schematic from Fenders web site:

Blue -- it does not lite up at all and there are no speakers external to the cabinet (or do you mean to check the internal speakers::??)

Ray -- dont know how i could have 'blew' it out (dont u have to have very high volumes to blow out a speaker??? i keep the vol very low ; just basement use and dont want to tee off the neighbors)

Have you checked the fuse?

I, too, have seen the output transistor get cooked on these amps. I've changed out a few of them.....

i will take off the cover and look for the fuses to see if one is blown

if it is the blown transistor; can i change it myself or better to take it in???

thnx

The transistor in question is not on the PC board.....it's legs are soldered though the pc board, but the body is bolted to an aluminum heat sink. So it should be simple to spot.

When these fry, they very often fry in a dramatic way.....last one on my bench had a hole melted right through the body of it! If it looks "iffy", it's most likely cooked.

It's not "hard" to change out, then again, brain surgery isn't "hard" to a brain surgeon........my way of saying, "maybe you can!.....maybe you can't." Can you solder?

The transistor is cheap (a buck or 2) and readily available from Mouser....
