My neighbor has a Fender Deville Hotrod 4 X 10. Yesterday while playing it for about 20 minutes I suddenly noticed that the amp wasn't sounding right. It started farting in and out and lost it's dynamics. So, I stopped of a second and looked behind the amp.
One of the power tubes was glowing BRIGHT RED, while the other was a normal orange glow. I also noticed a hint of a burning smell, but no smoke. I quickly powered it off.
What could be the issue? Is this amp easily serviceable. It still has the original GT tubes in it from about 4 years ago. I want to help my neighbor fix this amp because I sold it to him a while ago. Any help, thank you, Brian.
