Can't address the INT issue , but
Safety-wise , No . That config is switching the white (neutral) , and the black is always "on" (referenced to chassis ground)
as long as the fuse is intact and it's plugged in .
A short to referenced chassis ground will keep on truckin' (frying) until the fuse blows ,
even if the switch is off .The switch should be on the incoming black/then to the fuse .
Easy fix , unsolder the wires to the switch , solder all together/insulate (heat shrink)
Move the incoming black from fuse -> switch , run another wire from switch to fuse where black goes now .
Ideally the fuse should be between the incoming wire and the switch , then wires from switch-> tranny .
In-> fuse , fuse-> switch , switch -> tranny (stripes)
If in doubt hit up a tech , that's a 15 minute no-brainer if you walk in with the chassis ;)
