Considering revamping my stock R7 electronics to allow the full glory of the Fralins to shine through. The guitar is a great piece of wood, well made, plays like a dream etc...I've developed a pretty good bond with it.

The guitar is naturally very low-midrangey with not as much highs as your typical LP. No need to tame any brights. A little bit more openness would really be the only thing I can think of trying to improve upon.

Anything better or more custom-tailorable than your regular old RS kits?

I really dig the WCR/CTS Pots and the WCR caps. There are sveral great options out there though. People speak highy of the Dr. Vintage kits as well.

I use RS super pots for volume, regulat CTS audio taper for tone and paper in oil caps.

WOW! WCR has wiring now!!!! I didn't even know that, I will have to try those out simply because I'm a fan of their pups! I've had about half a dozen and loved every one, too bad they all left me in the guitars they were in.

I prefer to spec mine out individually. CTS 500K at least, but try for mid 500's.
Depending on the guitar, certain vintage caps. Usually .022, but that can vary also depending on the instrument.

You probably wont find many using the WCR wiring yet because it is so new and was just recently added to the WCR website. The RS kit has been around for a long time and has been used by alot of people. I've used both and prefer the WCR.

I got the pre assemble RS kit for my R9 and it was a clear improvement over the stock.
