I had an amp problem with hum, and I posted here and got a lot of suggestions for things to try to redcuce/eliminate it. I've done most of those, and have pretty much eliminated the problem. Most of it was caused by one of those 'one-spot' type of power supplies - once I switched to the power plus 2, most of the hum problems went away. I am also now running my amp and pedals through a furman power conditioner. Although that did not seem to affect the hum, it does appear to be making everything function more consistently from location to location.

I have one weird humming problem still. Whenever I click on my effects (either my sparkle drive or deja vibe) I will here a momentary BUZZ while it is switching. But ONLY if I have not grounded the strings of my guitar (by palm muting them). If I have my hand on the strings, no switching BUZZ.

To me this points to a ground problem... but where? In the guitar, in the circuit I am plugged into, in the amp, or in one of the effects?

It's not that big a deal, normally when playing it does not even come up, I only discovered it while switching effects on and off with the guitar on the guitar stand after re-ordering some effects, otherwise I might not have noticed it at all. However, if it is a ground problem, I would like to find and fix it.

Thanks for any help.

At the moment the switch is switching, it is lifting the positive and negative from the signal path, leaving essentially an open connection. This is the cause of the noise you are hearing.

OK...... so is there anything I could/should do about it? Or just ignore it, nothing to worry about?
