We've been in the studio recording our new CD for the last couple of months.Just last week.I talked Tommy Lepson into doing something a bit different.Check it out and tell me what you think. The solo and the fills are just a scratch track.I'll probably stick with the same solo, but I'm not so sure about the fills.
Edit....I removed the fills and remixed the remaining guitar parts.Sometimes....less is more. It's the first tune that plays when my page opens.

Link worked for me.
Well-recorded except the vox needed to be a little higher in the mix. Didn't care for the solo, too shreddy. The web site called it blues rock but it sounded like hard rock to me. I would have like the guitar tone overall to be a little cleaner. Not Twin clean but a little less hairy.

Oh Man John ..
Doesn't work for me ... I've tried all the links you've posted a number of times
& they all take me to the Soundclick homepage ...
Maybe it's because I still have dial-up or something like that ...

It foxed me first time. My Browser prompts me 'trying to Close Window'. I say 'No' and then the player appears. Say 'Yes' and your left wanting..........

Liked it a lot, John. I love how you are always right in the pocket and your vibrato kills.

That is cool. I like the main riff and solo. What amp did you use? Sounds good.

John,
Really dig the tune and your playing, wonderful as usual.

Love it - very different feel from Earth to America, which I like a lot as well. As soon as it's warm enough to open the windows here in the office I'll increase your Spanish fan base by cranking it! :D

I used a VHT 50/12 combo.The EL34 model.I used the amp's boost for the solo.

Love the main riff, would love it more if it wasn't as wet.
I didn't think the lead was too shreddy at all. Maybe a bit too rockin' alongside the "plight of the regular guy" lyrics? Just throwing out a possible reason for that criticism.
Great rhythm section. Totally in the pocket!
Overall, pretty kickass!

Nice, I think you left a lot of places open that could use lot's of little guitar fills/riffs though ie, more guitar!

John as I told you years ago when we spoke, a few are born with a special gift to undedrstand and play those pieces of wood and steel strings..I didn't get it but you sure did..the main thing I love about your playing is the variety of styles you have mastered you go from blues to funk to rock effortlessly..

Thanks guys. This is actually a rough track that will be done over.I came up with the rhythm track and played it to a click to keep in time. The drums and bass were added later as were the vocals.I did the solo at home on my computer just to get a feel for what I wanted to do.We're going to redo the tune next week at the studio all together. Then I'm doing a solo that fits the tune better.Probably less verb in the mix as well.I'll post the finished product when it's done.

Awesome! Vocals and guitar.
Loved it! I don't think the guitar needs the modulation, chorus or whatever it is. The solo was perfect IMO. The singer has a cool voice too. Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

I remain a dedicated John Bell fan.
Lots of room for 2nd half riffage in between the hook riff and the vocal, particularly on the fade. I'm sure you'll come up with some killer stuff.
Still bangin away on that VHT eh? Sounds great as always John.

You are too kind sir. And yes still using a VHT 50/12,but the el34 version instead of the el84 model.
