sound too brown and compressed? how would it sound/feel compared to the 6V6's/5u4 combo? Thanks for all the help! I'm tryin' real hard to get into this stuff... call me a noob!

Depends on which Copper Cap you use. If you use 6L6s and a 5AR4 rectifier OR 5AR4 Copper Cap, it should sound less compressed than stock.
