A customer recently brought me a 1953 Fender 5C5 Pro that was pretty trashed. At some point, a previous technician had replaced the filter capacitors, reversing their polarity while he was at it. :messedup

My guy had a 15" Weber Ceramic Blue Dog (16 ohm) he wanted to put into the amp, so I paired it up with a 50 watt Mercury Magnetics OT (original OT was shot). After an hour of swapping in different 6SC7 tubes, the amp has a beautiful chime with tons of sustain and enough power to take your head off. I'll almost hate to give this one back.

Those are antiques!!..Probably worth a lot of $$ on Ebay.They remind me of Crayola's left out in the sun too long!!:horse

I have a 1953 Pro Wide panel with the original caps.Amazing how long some will live and others blister up.:stir

Actually more like the ones I used to chew on when I was about 3 years old...

Ive had some luck siliconing them back together, good for another 50 years..:stir
