I am looking for an analog delay that I can do swells with and let them sustain for a loong time with a bit of warble or distortion....yet not have it go into feedback and oscillation. Would this be a good choice?
What are the pros and cons of the AD999?

I love me Memory Lane for what you are describing. I just love the tone and warmth of the delay trails on clean and slightly overdriven tones.

Although,

The Memory Lane is well known for breaking early into oscillation. Mike @ Diamond made it clear to me that the ML can be modded or adjusted to oscillate later.

I actually have a memory lane, but find it oscillates too easily, but I love it for subtle settings with about two repeats with some mod on it.

agreed - kept the AD900 - maybe its the 12v - slam the Klon and ODs into it, no problem...the AD999 to its credit has more delay time, stereo out as I recall?, and true bypass - but the buffer on the AD900 seems stellar.

I definitely prefer the tone of the AD900. I had them both at the same time for quite a while and I sold the AD999. I found it a little too bright for an analog delay. I would also recommend the Analogman Delay in the 600 ms version. It is stronger and clearer than the AD900, but still has great analog warmth and oscillation.

that pedal is great - heard one over the weekend. I have 2 old Ibanez AD 80's and that one reminded me of it - especially in terms of warmth.

O god... whats the pro version all about and what does it cost compared to the basic ad999? I just picked up the ad999 and Im going into my studio right now to see how it performs against the dbd.

When did this one arrive?

Well, I like the dbd better for my own reasons ( everybody has different sounds and set ups ) but the ad999 is a great pedal. Nice quality repeats that are analogy and bouncy. I just bought a AM delay, so I will have more comparisons to follow.

My ad999 is for sale for about $50 less than new, so check emporium if interested.

I haven't a better straightforward analog delay, plus slap a EP-Pre before it and you have an echoplex! The Deluxe memory man, is nice but it can make a nice organic tone more lofi sounding. I find the AD999 doesn't mess with my hard earned tone.

I loe my AD999. About 4 years of use, great warm sound, very quiet. I hear they don't all sound the same due to the trimmers inside and where they are set? Anyway, mine is perfect.

Slightly off topic: I've got an older AD900 that runs on 12V and my wall wart cable just crapped out. I want to use a reverse polarity cable and my Pedal Power I with the Maxon, does anyone know if running it at 13.2V (PPI dipswitch in higher voltage position for one outlet) as opposed to 12V would damage it?

Thanks

I use my ad999 always on for thickening (not quite slapback) it is clearer and does not muck up the tone.

And I use the ad900 for the thicker warmer analog delay sound for leads which I think it does better than the ad999
