I was wondering if the stress relief jackets for george l's cables were necessary...i see some selling with them and some without them. what are the benefits (if any) of having the jacket?. thanks!

I have them but they really don't do that much besides look good. I still love my George L's. They easily stand up to cables that cost much more.

i was wondering the same thing and never use them. when i did use them, they always fell off anyway... what the hell does "stress relief" mean??

not to be playing devils advocate, but many a pedal post has contained the phrase 'slight wear from a george l's cable', which is completely understandable if you don't use the jackets. yes they look much better, but they also protect neighboring pedals and potentially against grounding issues? myne stay on fine. plus you can make the different cable/jacket combinations look really sharp (i loved my red/black, and the blue/white).

They also keep the little screwtop things from coming unscrewed. I use them and have ZERO problems ever.
