I play Jazz and have a Taylor Nylon Series NS-64CE (Engelmann Spruce top/Big Leaf Maple back & sides), equipped with Fishman Prefix Pro preamp (Piezo and goozeneck mic), and wish suggestions about the best nylon strings to acquire a pure and bold Jazz tone.

They`re a little pricey bit I recommend Savarez Alliance . Their normal tension string is already a bit more resistant to the jazz player attack (at least mine) without going high tension ,, High tension to me usually inhibits the expression of the my instruments ..too stuffy .
The Alliance also has sweeter trebles . Of course the instrument and players attack will give you the final answer

I've been thinking about the Savarez Alliance because of the clearance. But for the basses, Corum, HT, Normal...? I play very dynamic flatpicking mostly. I use low action and the Taylor is perfect for that. The factory recommends D'Addario extra-hard tension (EJ-44). Maybe the Savarez in high tension doesn't make a better job? The normal tension in my other guitars are so much soft, especially when flatpicking.

cool ...2 votes ! Sounds like you`ll need the extra tension .At least you don`t have to spend 250 to 2500 bucks to chase the tone !

I also play jazz and use Savarez 520R Carte Rouge (high tension). Previously I had been playing Hannabach Black (medium tension) for two years. My guitar was always buzzing (My classical is setup with 6/64-5/64 action) until I changed to hight tension. Savarez sound very sweet too. The sound has great bass and clear trebles frequencies.
