Just wondering if tonefreaks like these pups. I heard some snippet abot Warren Hayes' early tone was due to these but dont know for sure-

if you mean "demand that they get removed and thrown away", then yes.

Yeah, thats why I removed them from my 335. I just heard that they sound good in some applications and I remember that my 335 sounded great with the stock pups when playing slide.

all smartassery aside, the main issue with those things was that the covers always broke loose, rendering them squeal generators.

I had a LP Custom with them. They were very average sounding.
I have an HB-L laying around. They were only made a few years with some Bill Lawrence involvement. I've heard of a few people looking for them over the years, and they are decent sounding. Maybe in another 10-20 years!?

didnt know if they were valuable to collectors or Gibson fans. I have a pair from my 335 that I removed with full leads and was thinking of selling. Otherwise I'll hold on to them.
