Hey guys! How's it going?
This is my first post in the forum and I am very happy about it!

Yesterday I did my first "serious" home recording with some decent equipment! http://petrucciforum.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Mesa Boogie Mark IV, Shure Sm57, M-Audio Fast Track Pro, TC Nova, a Behringer clean booster, Morley Wah and lots of excitement! http://petrucciforum.com/forums/images/smilies/guitarist.gif http://petrucciforum.com/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif
I am playing over the Lines In The Sand BT I created! It's my first try, I just placed the mic in front of the cone of the speaker and hit record! The Mark is at ridiculously low volume!

This is the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/11258354..._TEST.mp3.html (http://rapidshare.com/files/112583543/LINES_IN_THE_SAND_MARK_IV_TEST.mp3.html)

I'd like some opinions cause my sound now is coming from some studio monitor-headphones and I haven't listened it to normal speakers yet!
And please don't take into account any playing thingies here and there, my strings are old and my frets are a bit destroyed, I mostly need your opinions about the tone! http://petrucciforum.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Thanx for your time guys! http://petrucciforum.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

Nice recording, I've been a Dream Theater fan for quite a while now and you definitely did a nice job. It's really nice to hear someone play one of JP's really melodic and slower solos, and to hear it done right. A lot of people that focus on speed (not saying that you are) sometimes have a hard time playing slower melodies, but you did a great job! In my opinion I think JP does the whole shred thing the best, his stuff is always so melodic and from the heart, and he is one of the most humble players around, especially for the type of music he plays. Anyway, again, nice job!

Thanks man! :BEER
This is through a combo speaker and the settings are as follows:

Lead Gain - 8 Pulled
Lead Treble - 8
Lead Bass - 1.5
Lead Mid - 1
Lead Drive - 8
Presence LD - 2.5 Pushed
Lead Voicing - Harmonics
LD Master - 1+1/4
Output - 1+3/4
With the EQ on, just some mids cut, bass boosted, a very mild V.
In Tweed Power, Pentode, Simul-Class. And the SM57 is on axis!
