Does Accutronics make the best replacement, or is there something better in terms of getting closer to the sound of the original (or at least the "sweetest" sounding in a Fender BF amp)?

Accutronics is the best I've seen in the consumer market anyway. I like the Belton company, bless their soul, but their tanks aren't as reliable or rugged as the Accutronics' equivalents.
My experience with the new Accutronics is that it does not sound nearly as good as the ones they made way back then.
It does the job, though, for most people.

My findings also. The newer ones seem to drown the signal with more effect.
I have an old Fender PA head in pieces (I think its a PS160) - I could let the reverb tank go if you need one. PM me if that would be helpful.
