If I find an amp in England and want to bring it to the US, how much work is it to convert to operate on 110V/60Hz?
Thanks
You can get a 120V to 240V transformer, not too expensive. I don't think the 50 vs. 60 Hz matters very much. I run my marshall that way and haven't had any problems. Of course if the amp has a 120v tap on the power transformer it might be better to use that just for the convenience. I don't know much about that kind of conversion though.

Many old Brit amps are switchable to run on USA voltage---- if you find one that is 220/240 only then a new power transformer that has a 120V primary could be installed but it wouldn't be cheap--- and it might de-value a vintage amp----- a 120-to-240 stepup transformer could be used if it has enough capacity but then there's another piece to lug around and maybe fail at the worst possible time.
Just find one that can be switched to run on 115/120 USA voltage--- don't worry about 50/60 hz...................gldtp99
