Hey everyone, I'm wondering if those of you that live in my area could name a good amp/guitar tech or two. Where can I go to get good work done at a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Maybe you've already found the only one:)

If you can expand to Philly you might have better luck.

Come down to Baltimore and your options open up substantially

Hahaha, I probably have. Sucker has a stranglehold on us around here. :p

Philly and Baltimore are a little farther than I wanted to go. I was hoping there was someone in my general area within 30 minutes. Philly is 45+ minutes and completely out of the way. Baltimore in nearly a 1+1/2 hours.

With all due respect, after the experience you posted about a few weeks ago if 45 minutes is too inconvenient, well, I'm just speachless;)

Thanks! I'll check him out if I need some guitar work done.

Haha, well, I didn't say I won't travel the 45 minutes, but I was hoping there was a great amp tech in DE that I didn't know about first. I think it would be foolish of me not to at least ask around.

Are you looking for an amp tech or guitar tech....

The only guy i know of around delaware to do amp work is Rob Konopka he is about a half hour north of newark, you can drop your amps off at accent music to be sent out to him though....

As far as guitar techs are concerned, Nick Bucci is the shit, he does great work and is highly recommended around the area, he is located in claymont, he can be tough to get in touch with though, but persistence will pay off...

Hope this helps a bit...

Hey, cool man! Thanks. I'm actually looking for both an amp and guitar tech...don't need either right now, but I know I will in the future.

I know exactly where both Accent Music stores are in DE...I just didn't know they actually did any amp work there. Haven't heard of Nick Bucci, but I'll check him out if I can get ahold of him.

What do you know about Rob Konopka? Good tech? Reasonable rates?

Thanks again. :AOK

well, Rob may be a bit on the high side sometimes, but he is very good, i have had a bunch of work done by him and it turned out awesome, like i said, he seems a little bit high to me, but the quality is there so it is worth every penny to me, but you can always call him to check his rates and make your decision....

Nick Bucci is awesome, if you live near wilmington, he plays at the Blue Parrot on Union street every wednesday from like 9-12, he is a master guitarist, he was Vinnie Moores teacher way back in the day, if you know who he is, i go up almost every week to check him out and i am impressed every time...

I have seen some of his custom built guitars and his work is really very good, my friend gets set-ups from him all the time and they are done very well...

Good luck with your search, hopefully this has helped...

Indeed it has. I appreciate the info very much...exactly what I was looking for.

BTW, I do live near Wilmington so I'll have to check out Nick Bucci sometime...I believe I know where the Blue Parrot is as well.

Thanks again!
