Vibrato vs Tremolo

I have a 64 Tremolux and now a 60 Super ( 2x10 ) w/ vibrato. My question is regarding the difference in these two effects. The vibrato ( super ) is quite subtle and it seems to really kick in at 10 for intensity and 8 for speed. There does not seem to be much effect at the lower settings ? does this eem correct or is the vibrato in need of repair.

Well to start with,they are both really a version of tremlo and not realy vibrato.
It does appear by what you are describing that some repairs are in order.
There should be more effect earlier on the dials.I would try some new tubes first.
