G'day. I am building a 50w EL34 JCM800 2204 type amp and amp going along with the tone lizard recommendations.
http://www.tone-lizard.com/Ultimate_JCM800.htm

Additionally, under Marshall Myths, there is pretty good reasoning to change the screen supply. What I am going to go with is this:

1. Replace the choke with a 100 ohm resistor
2. Use a shared 1000 ohm screen resistor (470 ohm for a 100 watt Marshall)
3. Individual 100 ohm resistors on the screens

AND, connect the suppressor grid to BIAS supply, NOT pin 8!

Any comments? Thanks - Randy

1. in this link recommends bypassing the 68k input resistor with a 330pf cap. "This will beef up the mids and lows and make the entire amp feel more "meaty" and "thick"." Any idea why?

gldtp99, what mods did you do? I had good results with the first 3 or 4
in my JCM 800 - 2203.
