OK, so we are obsoleting the Screamer and Screamer Fuzz (I think we are actually out of stock). We are replacing them with the Screamer SS, and Screamer Fuzz SS. They are the same as the original, but we have added a toggle switch to allow you to select the clipping section between Standard, Schottky (Crushed), and Bi Directional LED (Asymetrical, Open). In addition, the LED has been mounted externally, so when you are in the LED clipping mode, you can see your notes.

As a side effect, the LED can be used as a Tuner in loud rooms. Simply hit the 5th fret, and open fret as you normally would, and as the note gets in tune, the LED stops blinking.

We are also adding an option to change the LED function. Normally, the LED is Green while in bypass, and RED while On. If you hold the switch for a few seconds, it will change to "old school" mode, where it is OFF while off, and Red while On.

Also, we are about to start cutting enclosures, so does anyone have any suggestions on the name? Or is "SS" an OK name for the 2nd generation?

Lastly, the price will be going up $25 on this version. We will also have a new color available for each model, in addition to Black. We will probably dis-continue the Un-finished.

Thanks,

Jon

I like the "SS" as in "Super Sport" ... but then you have to paint them with some racing stripes: http://www.chevellfan.com/showcase70.html

OK, a few more name ideas (these would appply to the Screamer Fuzz as well):

I Scream, W/nuts

Screamer XL (S (standard), XL (Extra Large), and C (crushed) clipping modes.)

Super Screamer

Screamer VC (Variable Clipping)

Screamer TC (Triple Clipping)

Screamer 2.0 (I would have to take the other Screamer 2.0, Blake, off the website, or move him).

Any others?

Come on guys, visit this wierldy named area of the board, and give your opinions. Since I can't visit you over in Effects, come over here and vist me...

Well, thinking in terms of what can actually go on the pedal and still look "right," I'd just put "Screamer 2.0" :)

I think "Screamer v2" and "Screamer Fuzz v2" would look cool and be self-explanatory in the sense that people would not have to wonder if it's the same pedal or not ... you'd get the point that it's an update.

Sounds like great ideas! I tried a Screamer Fuzz a couple of years ago and loved it. Maybe time for a v2

No way you can take out Screamer 2.0 -- that's the best part of your site!

I vote for Supa Screamah...

You could add the to lame questions you probably get and confusion by about "Cusack" Music by using the following names...

High Fidelity Screamer <---this one might actually work.
Gross Point Blank Screamer
Say Anything Screamer
Better Off Dead Screamer <--Personal Favorite

But I think you'll probably hate this idea....

In all honesty, The Screamer Fuzz SS (or whatever it is) is next on my list. The Screamer fuzz was my favorite OD pedal of all time. I wish I wasn't stupid to flip it for yet another delay pedal.

Now that a new version is coming out, I will save the $$ to get a new one.

Thanks for the Gas Jon!

The Super Screamer might work. Maybe that's the "official" name, and what's on the box, and on the pedal itself is just "SS?"

I think we are going with "V2". I can't think of anything more exciting. Maybe "TT" for Triple Throw? I've been too busy to even think of it anymore.

Any other ideas?

Oh, and we have about 100 of each built, just waiting for engraved cases. (And he's waiting for me to give him a name.)

SS is also still good

could be Super Stomper with the extra stomp features

or Stealth Stomp....

to be honest I always thought the Screamer part of the name was a mistake , its kind of anti climatic - 'ah just another screamer '

'I scream with nuts' is cool

or just 'Nutsack' for short

and of course everyone will want some 'Nutsack Fuzz'

So true Donner. I would be a screamer for sure..

For clarity sake I wasn't trying to be mean or negative to the "
Nutsack Fuzz" comment. I was trying to make a puberty joke...but after re-reading it I think it came off a little mean to DonneR.

Sorry for the bad attempt at humor...

All that said whatever this pedal is named, I want one...

The Screamer Overdrive Supreme? The Cusack SOS.

It kinda sounds like a Value Meal at Taco Bell, but it might work...

:agree So, shouldn't the new versions be Screamer 3.0? :)
