Fender Deluxe 5E3 question

I am just starting on a custom 5E3 build. I have built a ton of amps but have yet to build one of these. My question is what is the most commonly used input according to the schematic? The upper or the lower? The reason is that on the other channel channel I am going to have a 3 stage hi-gain stage, then padded down, instead of just the single stage.
My goal is to have a typical 5E3 amp with the one stock input, and the other input would be a hot-rodded Marshall type. Thanks in advance.

I've used the # 1 bright volume mostly.

Most of the folks I've worked with or built for use (mostly) the high impedance bright channel input. That said, almost as many folks use both channels bridged for slightly more gain and more flexibility. You'd loose that option of course...
