I have a c30, its running JJs right now. I dislike JJs for the most part. I have a set of Mullard RIs. I would ideally like to put these into the Peavey, however I think the plate voltages on the mullards are too high (at 30.6, 30.6, 31, and 30). Blueguitar says that you should try to keep the total mA between 100-106.

I have also seen people say that they haven't found a set that didn't work in the Peavey. I can only assume this refers to brand and not plate voltage. I know its a fixed bias amp, but they conservatively fixed it so that a wide array of tubes would work.

Please tell me not to put the Mullards in there so I won't blow up the amp.

In order to know if its running to hot you need to know the plate voltage-at least roughly. If you are saying the idle current is around 30 ma per tube thats probably too high unless the plate voltage is very low-under 300 volts. Bob
