Built by Neal Moser and his staff: slipmatched Cocobolo body (cleared) and two-piece neck (unfinished), cut from same board; African Blackwood fretboard (flat 20" radius) and truss rod plate, stamped with MCS logo; bookmatched carved quilt maple top with matched headplate from same billet, natural finish; custom matched Cocobolo electronics backplate; Sperzels; TonePros bridge; 25" scale; bolt-in neck join design; HighOrder pickups; flame maple pickup rings from www.pickuprings.com; electronics consist of master volume, ToneStyler tone circuit from Stellartone (one of the new "free rotation" notchless models), MCS booster preamp w/ volume control and Cap/Mod circuit (push/pull on master volume), phase switch, series/parallel switching.
Substantial-feeling but not nearly as heavy as one might imagine. And despite what I heard from prognosticators, definitely does NOT sound like a dead, lifeless plank. Full gallery of photos here: http://nealmoser.com/store/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3852&g2_page=1
Don't be afraid to consider Neal Moser for a build. As this guitar will attest, everything he does is not a pointy death-metal shape. He makes traditionally-shaped guitars and basses as well and, as a full custom shop, the sky is pretty much the limit for what they'll consider. He's an old-school luthier utilizing old-world methods and techniques, and quality is his priority.
