Replacing EF86 with E80F?

Anybody try these substitutes? I don't want to fry anything, but the tube gurus, from Google searches, say it'll work. Also, I'd like to hear about any sonic differences or possible loses.:munch

From what the data sheets say, they aren't exact substitutes. The operating characteristics are different, so there will be a tonal difference. I've never tried an E80F, so I can't tell you exact what that will be, but I'm sure someone around here knows.
