Larry DiMarzio celebrates 36 years of building pickups with the introduction of his new PAF®. “I wanted to continue in the spirit of pioneers like Seth Lover, so these new pickups are not just clones. “ Check out our new video at http://www.dimarzio.com/magazine/#/products/PAF_36th/.

These look very interesting. I'd like to try a pair in my R9 to see how they compare to something like a Duncan Antiquity.

the trademark office says they filed that application all the way back in 1977 ... since it was registered more than 5 years ago, very limited grounds for challenging that registration exist ... they do, however, include fraud ...

All I know is that their pickups are great and Steve Blucher is fantastic, personally answering questions when he has time.

They also own the double cream coil humbucker.

Ahh! I listened to one of those yesterday. Very nice tone! Everything I've heard with those 36th Anniversary PAF's makes me want to buy a set even though I know what I'm hearing is 95% good musicianship/other stuff and 5% pickups.

ANd double cream colored bobbins. Then there is the Kinman fiasco.

I'll buy a Dimarzio when they let other makers use double cream bobbins....after all Gibson did it first.....and let the PAF term go back to where it belongs.

I have a friend that put the pickups from the vid in his Les Paul as a cheaper alternative to Fralins. He replaced them with Fralins after hearing my Les Paul.

They dont really. Nice pickups but they don't have the vibe.

If you want to nail that old tone WCR, Fralin, Lollar and Holmes are the ticket IMO

Patents and trademarks are a fact of life. Get over it. Fuchs trademarked ODS and Randall Smith has patented the most trivial !@#$ imaginable. Gibson tried to sue PRS over the single cut body shape.

I replaced Fralin pickups in my Les Paul with Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF pickups and I couldn't be happier. I have many demos of the dimarzio pickups on my youtube site. They are fantastic pickups at reasonable prices.
