I am really impressed with Trillium Amps. They have developed technology that makes their SE amps QUIET. I have been building and playing SE guitar amps for years, And, I want one of these! If you have ever used a good SE amp, you know the tonal bliss that they offer. They have great looking unique cabinets, not to mention, cool sounding amps that run really quiet.

I haven't played them yet, but based on thier looks alone I invited them to the next Detroit Amp Showcase and they accepted! It wasn't until our newest member of the Ark design team Randy Fay designed our Model C that I fell in love with single ended amps, when they are done right they rock!!! I look forward to playing a Trillium sometime soon;)

Thanks, Fellas. Our noise floor is -65 dB S/N so it's a dream to close mic.

No hiss means more dynamic range. It's also spiffy for archtops and other delicate instruments.

Mike-

Do you build anything with an EF86 tube? I owned a DC-30 once and it was out of this world. Too loud, but out of this world.

I'd love an EF86 EL84 amp, lo power though.

Have you tried the AC-4 circuit?

IMHO, ampmakers in the 60's gave up on the EF 86 due to reliability, and they had the GOOD tubes, that tells me something.

I had a Z-28 a few years ago and liked it until I would switch pickups or guitars...then have to dial it in again, but I think that was due more to the tone stack, not the preamp tube. But the Z didn't do anything a good BF Fender could do.

I built an 18 watter with an EF86 once, but I eventually reverted back to a 12AX7 preamp.

DC-30 is a great amp, but I prefer the normal channel, go figure.

I wouldn't mind having a job wiring up cool amps...hint, hint. Sell a bunch of Trilliums so you can hire another worker :AOK.
