Anyone seen this in person? They're sold out right now, but the website says there will be more in late July.

It seems like a really good idea, and at a reasonable price, too.

given that you can buy a breadboard for $8 from radioshack & that all those circuits can be found for free on the internet, I fail to see how $249 is a reasonable price...

His kit takes all the guesswork out of it and is really far less intimidating to a newbie than trying to source all your own parts and learning how to solder, etc. at the same time. Sure anyone can build a kit but this seems to be more geared toward what makes it actually work and how can I tweak it to see what I like before breaking out the soldering iron. It's just really convenient I think. That being said I already decided to let other people build them and I'll play them. :)

My interest stems not from a desire to replicate any particular pedal, but to use it as a learning tool and construct my own circuits. There may be a cheaper way to do this, but I can't think of a more convenient one.

If you actually tried to order all of the components he includes and put together a board like that, you would be approaching the price. Not to mention that he includes instructions for building them on the breadboard, which aren't available online. Granted you can convert a perf layout to breadboard, but that can be a hassle too.

All in all its a great deal and an awesome inventive product as well.

Whoops, sorry about that. I'm not sure how I missed it.
