I thought I would add to the new section by adding the much loved/maligned Line 6 Spider Valve. These clips were recorded with a Tascam DR-1 field recorder from my cover band gig. I love and hate this amp at the same time.
Signal path:
custom Tele with Joe Bardens>>>Rocktron Talk Box(not used)>>>>modded Boss CS-3 (only used for the clean clips)>>>Line 6 SV. I have a FBV short board to control patches. I do not use many (just 4).
Clip Descriptions: Each clip has some rhythm and lead in each in each to get the full idea. I tried to provide a tonal description to relate to amps everyone should know. I know it is not the real thing, but it is close enough.

Really nice solos!
Pretty convincing, seems to be very versatile, great for your type of band which covers a wide range of music. Probably could never get all those tones out of a traditional setup. I guess you don't love the Line6 when you play by yourself at home. I'll bet that's when you hear and feel the difference.
At least, thats how I felt about my Vetta. The Vetta couldn't seem to cut it in a band mix. Your Spider Valve did. Very intriguing.

Thanks for the compliment! :BEER
You are correct on the home part. I use a AX84 P1 I built into a broken SS 2x10 combo amp, with a modded BOSS Dual Overdrive (SD-2) and a MXR Carbon Copy. 5 Watt tube single ended amp with response and feel.
There is some response in the Spider Valve when you get the MV high enough. I barely run it through the PA. It does cut through the mix without an issue. Again, I am not completely happy with it.
I have heard that the Vetta is pretty nice for a band setup. Were you playing with another guitarist? I am doing a country gig next week with two other guitarists and a steel guitarist, so I will find out how the Spider Valve really does in a multiguitar mix. I will post some clips afterwards.
Thanks again!

The Fender country bite one sounded awesome. I need to spend some more time with these in the local GC (the one time I test drove it sounded pretty good, but it's hard to hear anything in those stores :D).

I tried mine in the iso-room at my GC. I really turned it up and started creating patches. I realized there was some potential core tones in the amp. It is sort of like a a Music Man amp...SS preamp and tube PI & power section.

Yup. I like mine....not the be all end all in amps...but the price point vs. return is very amazing. The SV is like a B student....there are a few C's and A's in that report card but being in the 80% area is fine by me with a cover band. YMMV.

I think that is the best description of the Spider Valve! Thanks Badger71!
