Here we go, one year's worth of buying, selling and trading, all caught on tape. Some clips have my vocal caterwauling, feel free to disregard.

6/20/07: a 1969 Guild F312NT 12-String Minijumbo Brazilian Rosewood Acoustic, Adironack Spruce top. Trying out my Planet Waves NS Capo, which worked very well with the 12-string.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GEeOIjb93w&fmt=18

6/24/07: a '76 Gibson Les Paul Custom, bone stock, to a '65 Fender reissue Twin Reverb, direct. Clean as a bone. I believe this is the middle position on the pickup selector switch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8ZtqBFGlvI&fmt=18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GEeOIjb93w&fmt=18)

6/29/07: 1968 Guild Aragon F-30NT 6-string Minijumbo Mahoghany Acoustic, shortscale, Adi Spruce top. Warm soft tone, but drove it here to show the lack of headroom before compression:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIyhFfNITtU&fmt=18

7/20/07: Late 60's Epiphone Model 1878 Tube Combo Amp. Vicious onboard tremolo, can't control the depth, only speed, so that square wave chop is relentless. Fed direct with the Les Paul again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3UsYYgB1M8&fmt=18

7/29/07: 2006 Santa Cruz H13 Mahoghany, like a Gibson L-00 but with 13 frets to the body. Like a mini Martin D-18, had killer headroom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFxVjEQot9M&fmt=18

8/2/07: Electro-Harmonix Big Muff (Black Soviet Reissue), Small Stone (same deal) and a Morley Black Gold Volume Wah. I got them all in the 80's, they're all gone now. Fed again by the LP/Epi tube combo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yFtuRkHYjE&fmt=18

8/26/07: 1972 Martin D-28S 12-Fret Dreadnaught Slothead, East Indian Rosewood with Sitka Spruce top. One of my favorite acoustics, I still have it and enjoy it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms8AyRZOA0c&fmt=18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms8AyRZOA0c&fmt=18)

9/1/07: 2005 Martin Custom 000-18, shortscale, with Golden Era appointments. Short Scale goodness here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QbTs0jYq1s&fmt=18

9/2/07: Early 90's Gibson ES-135 with B7 Bigsby Vibrato and Z90 Harmonic Design pickups, Wilkinson Roller Bridge and Grover Locking Rotomatic Tuners. Going direct into the Epi Amp again. Why oh why did I give this one up?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI8HwJcFaBY&fmt=18

9/25/07: 1976 Fender Mustang Bass with Gibson "mudbucker" pickup in there, shortscale, going to the '65 Fender RI Twin Reverb. Amazingly, didn't sound that bad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPC_bVAtPNQ&fmt=18

9/25/07: 1994 Fender 40th Anniversary American Standard Stratocaster, vibrato is "decked" so it only whammies down. Chimiest guitar I ever owned, it was PLEK'd too. '65 Twin Reverb here again, direct:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_8xJCRQJ5A&fmt=18

10/8/07: 2007 Fender '62 Reissue Thin Skin Jazzmaster in Sonic Blue. Direct into the Epi amp. Note that the middle position cancelled out the grounding hum, nice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X_RaGqCt1c&fmt=18

10/18/07: 2005 Fender '52 Reissue Telecaster with Bigsby aftermarket on there. Trying out an ISP Decimator to kill that single coil hum. Using an early 80's Music Man 112RD tube hybrid combo, both clean and distortion channels.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLTXpyD5FhI&fmt=18

10/20/07: First attempt at a stereo rig, with the Epi and Music Man serving duties. Carl Martin Compressor to a BYOC Wah with Whipple Halo Inductor to a BBE Sonic Stomp to a T.Rex Replica delay. The LP is doing guitar duties.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j7J4fPHMpw&fmt=18

10/20/07: Zvex Fuzz Probe demo - using the Jazzmaster and Epi amp for this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LKs1uhigxQ&fmt=18

10/24/07: 1967 Guild Starfire XII 12-string semi-hollowbody guitar direct into the Epi amp. great tone.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sgFqwJqW7o&fmt=18

11/03/07: 1971 Vibro Champ with reissue 8" Jensen speaker, 2006 Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster with Dimarzio Area '58 in neck, Virtual Blues in middle, Area '61 in bridge. Using just the Virtual Blues here in middle, going direct:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi-YCzeX42Y&fmt=18

11/22/07: 1946 Gibson J-45. Cowboy guitar, shortscale, still have it, it's great:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htmSWgmphNA&fmt=18

11/24/07: Analogman King of Tone KOT v.2 and Zvex Fuzz Factory demo, using the EJ Strat and a '52 Fender TV Tweed Princeton amp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0dMP-bto_M&fmt=18

12/4/07: 2007 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Rosewood Telecaster direct into the '52 Tweed Princeton. Dimarzio Area Ts in bridge and neck, just using bridge here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI6oglEMBBA&fmt=18

12/15/07: 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb, silverface clean with a '65 Guild Starfire II Special, going direct:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ8XnJ_VQjk&fmt=18

12/22/07: Here's a fun one - 1994 Guild Starfire II Bass reissue, shortscale, into an EH Deluxe Memory Man into an Eden Nemesis bass amp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2_e2efqrhE&fmt=18

12/29/07: 1962 Fender Concert Amp, brownface and checking out the harmonic onboard vibrato with the Starfire:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xatlYBqp7cY&fmt=18

1/1/08: Rosewood Telecaster to EH DMM to '52 Princeton, a clean warble:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naKu8RvWITQ&fmt=18

1/28/08: Gaspedals 2-channel Dumb Bell using the Rosewood Tele to the '52 Princeton:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScRyt2ors-U&fmt=18

1/27/08: Weber Mass 150 Attenuator with a 1964 Fender Princeton amp, a brownface transitional model. Starfire in crank duties here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jgcyrM3z9c&fmt=18

3/17/08: 1965 Guild Bluegrass F47 minijumbo in Mahoghany and Adi Spruce top. Longscale, like 25.5, Very archtop-like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDQSLvruyu8&fmt=18

3/31/08: BK Butler Tube Driver rackmount unit ("Chandler"). Starfire to this to the 1964 Fender Princeton really got close to the amp's natural tube sag overdrive.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q54gm8JyUqA&fmt=18

6/11/08: Palmer PDI-09 "The Junction" DI/Cabinet Simulator box. Starfire to EH DMM to this to the '64 Princeton. Kicked in a nasty Muff clone at the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLfDHN9NU8Q&fmt=18

6/22/08: Decided to just turn everything on I own - Starfire to Radial A/B/Y box to BYOC wah to Big Muff Triangle Clone to Ernie Ball Pan/Volume Pedal to EH Deluxe Memory Man to '64 Princeton to Weber Mass 150 Attenuator to Palmer PDI-09 to M-Audio DMP3 Preamp to Zoom H4 recorder to AKG K81 DJ headphones. Whew. Sounded like a mess.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m00fpxejfu8&fmt=18

And there you go, one year. Feel free to ask about any of the above, recollection is still pretty good due to keeping recordings of them. Looking back the only ones I regret not having still is that Blackface sound (soon to be rectified by a '64 Vibro Champ) and keeping something with a Bigsby on it (working on it).

7/2/08: Got my 1965 Vibro Champ up to speed with a Weber Signature Alnico 8 speaker and grounded with a 3-prong plug, the rest is bone stock. Man it sounds pretty amazing. Starfire duties again, at the end the DMM and Big Muff kick in again and the Vibro holds up like a champ.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=io7YIB27FBI&fmt=18

8/8/08: A little Blackbird on a 1958 Martin 00-17 all Mahogany guitar.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0zX4Cft5jg&feature=user

8/12/08: Got a Verbzilla, set it on the Octo setting, and an A/DA TFX4 on the Flanger setting, chopped the Vibro Champ's tremolo, and here you go-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz3F6N6hPdU&fmt=18

9/6/08: Got an Ibanez FP-777 Flying Pan, with two amps in stereo it is AMAZING. Very seductive. Added some Deluxe Memory Man Delay and Verbzilla '63 Spring Reverb at the end:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygZ3LOtmW90&fmt=18

9/10/08: My 1985 Guild Nightbird is ready for business, with GFS Memphis Retrotrons in there pulling humbucker duty!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2weITMNJwv0&feature=user&fmt=18

9/15/08: Superquiet demo of the 2008 Rick Kelly Bowery Pine Tele with 1963 Firebird Neck Pickup and Dimarzio Area T in bridge:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNECnao8PAI&fmt=18

10/4/08: and the Bowery Tele cranked straight to the Tweed Princeton with new Glendale compensated brass saddles, the '63 Firebird neck pickup only:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXfNmfdAJjg

10/18/08: I know it doesn't exactly qualify, but it's a great new piece of recording gear - my Apogee Duet, used the Martin 00-17 here:

Thanks, and just updated with a new amp that came in, a blackface Vibro Champ. Guess I'll treat this thread like a miniblog of GAS demos!

Another update in case folks haven't heard the Ibanez Flying Pan! Added it to the master list there on the bottom.

And another update for the Guild Nightbird. I'm on a tear, gotta find time to demo the Rick Kelly Bowery Tele too!

love the 58' Martin!!

Thanks! And it's back from the shop and sounds even better believe it or not! Gave it a neck reset and new saddle and it's perfectly intonated and has new life.

Added a quick clip of the Bowery Tele cranked on a Tweed Princeton since the first demo had to be at mousesqueak levels:

So what did you keep? ;)

So what did you keep? ;)

Heh, good question! Right now for acoustics I have the D-28S, J45, F312, 00-17. Electrics I have the Starfire, both Teles and the Nightbird. Amps I kept both Princetons and the Vibro Champ. Effects I kept the ABY Radial, BYOC Wah, Verbzilla, clone Muff, DMM, Flying Pan, Ernie Ball Pan/Vol and the PP2+ of course. Still use the attenuator and impedance matcher and the Palmer DI/O. The Fuchs reverb pedal looks interesting tho, and I have a Keeley Looper coming so the DMM doesn't suck tone. That about covers it!
