Hey gang......
Kinda what the post title spells out.
Could some of you using this combo give me the low down?
It would be a 4X12 app. in a closed back Marshall...X pattern.
Thanks in advance,
Mass

All that I know about this combination is that it is used in the Bogner Ubercab and the Voodoo Amps cabs. I would guess that it sounds pretty aggressive; never heard it though.

I have heard of the Bogner Ubercab having this combo to and the reviews seem quite impressive. I've never played one though.....
Hopefully, someone will chime in who uses this mix.
I'd love to hear the pro's and con's conerning the combo.
Take care,

This is still a formidable speaker combination. What Marshall amps refers to as "Disimilar" speaker pairing has been succesfull in other combinations as well. Voodoo Amps has given high marks to reissue Greenback 25's w/G12T-75's. Others swear by their H30/V30 combo. The first time I noted a quality divergence of tones from mixing speakers came from an early 90's Vox AC30 limited that sported the Vox famous, Celestion alnico "blue" and a Greenback. The two really complimented each other as will your X pattern V30/75's.

I rewired a friend's Soldano cab with this combination and was very impressed. It sounded really full, but still articulate. He plays southern rock/modern country with a Mesa Mark IV.

I use this combination now on a 4*12 cab wire to 16 ohm's and is fantastic for both clean and overdrive and high gain sounds can make your amp sound fuller and balace!!!!!! but still looking a new option with a more Vintage sound and feel that is more my style ...

I have a Marshall 1960A with the aforementioned speaker combination.
It sounds great, but how great depends on the amp as well, there are several amps I have that I prefer to use through a cab with all V30s. However, in general, I think its a good combo for higher gain stuff.

I have been wanting to do this as well with 2 of my 4x12 Carvin V3 cabinets. I have one filled with V30's and the other with 75's. I've heard nothing but good things about having the "Bogner" X-pattern in the cabs. I'm getting ready to buy a Mesa Triple Rec and wanted to see how it sounded through just V30's, just 75's, and then switch a cab to the X-pattern. I'll let you know when I get around to testing the sound difference.
