Hi all
I have a Fender Blues Deluxe and love the great Fender tone
However, the clean channel has little umph.
I'm a big fan of Steve Kimock and his Two Rock tone.
Looking for a transparent clean boost to help fake the Kimock tone.
Sorry, can't afford the amp, I know that's the real answer.
I've heard good things about and know little about;
BBE - Sonic Maximiser
Creation Audio Labs -l Mk 4.23
And the expensive T Rex - Twin 1 boost
Any suggestions for a boost to do what I want?
Clean with eq?
I really don't know.
my tone chain
G&L ASAT Special > SPF "Greenline od" > Zendrive 2 od > Blues Deluxe.
Thanks all

Kimock has said many times that you don't need a Kimock amp, or even a Two Rock to do pretty much anything he does tonewise. A tube Fender and just a little bit of pretty much any kind of gain boost in front will do just fine. The boost doesn't have to be anything special, either. Heck, way way back in the day he just had an old Electro Harmonix LPB1 stuffed into a volume pedal in front of a Vibrolux and it sounded great! Along the same lines, I used one of those little blue barcus berry acoustic guitar preamps cranked in front of a bandmaster reverb for years and the thing was a sweet as could be.

Thanks Mike
I hear what you say, and you do know Kimock.
I will keep this in mind.

Hey Cliff,
I like my Jetter GSR which can be used as merely a clean boost or it can be used as an OD pedal. It makes my Dual Showman and Twin Reverb sound almost like a Two Rock. Sometimes I think the clean is even better with just a little gain boost.

Thanks Steve, will check that out.
I've been checking out the BBE Sonic Stomp
that's a unique pedal with phase correction.
Sort of like taking a blanket off my amp.
Very nice mass or bloom.
But the jurys out still.

I bought a Creation Audio Labs MK 4.23 last week. It's a killer boost pedal.
