I know that this topic has been covered, but I'm still a little unclear.

I have a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue and would like to add a 1x12 cab. Should I get a 8 or 16 ohm speaker. I will be using it along with the internal speaker. My thinking is the 16 ohm since in parallel that would make the load roughly 12 ohm. Is that right?

Also does anyone know where I can get a 1x12 cab that fits perfect (width) with the deluxe reverb? Looking for a blonde with oxblood cloth.

When I use an extension cab, I use an 8 ohm cab with mine. I have had no problems. Not saying its the correct way to do it, but that's what I do.
16 ohm might be safer.

You'll want an 8-ohm extension speaker. The internal speaker is also 8 ohms. The output jacks are in parallel, which will result in a 4-ohm load with two speakers. This is half of what the amp is expecting and is within the design specs of the amp. With tube amps, it is safer to run LESS than the load rating, down to half the load rating, which is what you'll be doing.
