Looking for input for a replacement speaker.
I have a Tone King Meteor and was wondering if anyone here has replaced the speaker and if so what are you currently using?
I favor ceramic speakers because they compress less and have a tighter bass.
What are you folks using and why?

If that's the case, I'd say you're a candidate to try a Jensen Neo in that amp. After too many speaker experiments to list, I settled, a year and half back, on that speaker for my 1st generation Tone King Continental and never looked back. This speaker matches your criteria in spades and the fact that it'll cut 5 lbs. off the amp's weight ain't shabby neither. Mark Bartell himself told me he dug the tone when he installed it for me.

This doesn't get at the question exactly as asked, but I've been using my TK Meteor 1x12 with a 1x12 ext cab with Reverend Alltone 50W ceramic speaker. The ext cab is stiffer than the TK cab, and the Alltone has a fuller midrange than the TK speaker. The two together, TK 1x12 combo + 1x12 ext cab, sound EXCELLENT!!

Thanks for the help Jon and Riff. I have to check them both out.
That Neo Jensen sounds like it was just what the doctor ordered.
Anyone recommend a good dealer to buy Jensen speakers from?

I have a Tone Tubby alnico in mine, not quite as bright as the stock speaker.

The All-Tone is no longer made and no, you can't have my extra that I'm saving for some future project in addition to the stock one in my Reverend Hellhound and the other one in my Cage Bandmaster-Alike one-off combos :o , however, Weber makes a speaker that is virtually identical to it in all key construction aspects. Email Ted Weber for the speaker code.
I copped my Jensen Neo from http://www.usspeaker.com/homepage.htm
