I'm mainly a blackface/silverface Fender kind of guy when it comes to amps. Tweeds have their own thing going. The 5E3 is a cool amp, and Clark does it well. While the amp would not do for my only amp, it has given me some new directions to explore. I just had a blast for a couple of hours.
Are any of you tweed Deluxe fans?

I've got a Clark Gullah (basically a 15W Tweed Champ) and I found the single Tone control to be a bit limiting, especially in live situations where we play a range of different material.
I wound up getting a Barber Barb EQ pedal to be able have more varied tonal control.
(I have no affiliation w/ Barber).

Jon C's Clark Beaufort is literally one of the sweetest sounding amps I've ever heard.
Congrats on the Clark! :AOK

i got my Clark 5E3 here from Roach.
I am never getting rid of it.
very inspiring......
the other day i put the neck pup, vol on full, tone down in the last 30% to being off,
Amp in the mic or "normal" channel.
wow.............mellow warmth......and that was with the attenuator at -9 !!!
i can't wait to play a tele on the bridge pup with this amp.
it's warmth naturally works so well with bridge pups......
and that makes sense being the era of guitars and original design to the amps of that time. I really want to build some amps for self satisfaction, but i have to put it to CLARK AMPLIFICATION...........a damn lovely piece of sound.

Tele + 5e3 = bliss
I have a Vicky and with the tele its pure magic. I put a red fang (tight fit) in mine and it gave me way more volume and some needed head room. I also run a 12AY in V1. A tweed deluxe is a must have. I would probably sell my matchless and TopHats before ai would sell the deluxe.

I'm a fan and will always keep mine to retune my ears to what is right and true when I get too "out there" chasing tone.

I got mine in May 2006, with the Cele Blue. There is no finer 5E3 clone out there.
Not a great pic, but I love the color of the tweed Clark does.

I got my Michael's Beaufort Special when they were still available. No one around my parts, even wankers in music stores, knows what Clark amps are. (Until they hear it.)

That's the stuff right there! I am contemplating giving a Weber 12A150A a try in place of the Blue. I like the Blue, but I'd like to try a more traditional American voiced speaker in it for comparison. My tech is a speaker dealer also and vintage Fender nut. He said the 12A150A is his favorite spekaer in a 5E3 as it has full bottom, yet uses the same cone as the 12A125 so it is bright also.
Anyone using the 12A150A?

I picked up a 5E3 clone a few months ago and can't believe I didn't own one sooner. Thank goodness for the clones as the originals are so expensive these days. These little amps are magical in their pure tone and raw breakup. Definitely a keeper for sure. Congrats on your Clark!

How does the Clark compare to the Greer Underdog? Any sound clips of either amp?
