Hi, I'm looking for suggestions. It needs a 3400 primary, 4 and 8 taps, and has to handle 75W. The B+ is over 500V.

The old transformer is like a Marshall 50W but with several more pounds of iron and copper -- and it got fried.

The closest thing I know that would work is a Dynaco A431, although the primary Z is a little different (4300 vs 3400.)

I also thought about using one of the 100W Marshall OPTs and using the 2 and 4 Ohm taps as 4 and 8. But there would maybe be some low end loss since the primary inductance of those was designed to work with 1700 Ohm plate-to-plate.

I'd appreciate comments on these ideas, or other options.

Bedrock's former owner (Jay Abend) is a TGP member, I'll see if I can track him down for you.

You could contact any of the reputable transformer companies and they will get you the exact transformer you want. Mercury Magnetics, Heyboer, or Triad all make good stuff and are very helpful.
