My mother was given a Digiorgio classical guitar a few years back, and she has passed it on to me.
It was made in 1972 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Aside from a small nick on the front it is in very good condition.
Any idea how much it might be worth?

I have several, and the ones made in the 60s are very nice instruments (identified by their gold labels inside the soundhole). New they were quite cheap; I paid as little as 80.00 on Ebay, and as much as 250.00. DiGiorgio guitars were played by virtually all the greats of Bossa Nova, including Joao Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

certain very limited models have solid woods ... they can be special instruments ...but just about all are laminated and nothing special.
It won`t have the volume of a quality classical but some have a nice warm sound that is kind of compressed that lends itself to the light bossa nova touch .
I believe the small body is the "signorina" ...not worth considering ...and I believe there are numeric models, #9 through #1(I might be confusing them with DelVecchio or Giannini) I recorded with a top player in brasil who had a basic model Di Giorgio from the early 60`s that recorded really well ...can`t remember the name now ..
If you can find a solid BRW that isn`t cracked up,,,it could be a keeper .
I can talk to a friend of mine for you if you`re curious about your model .

That would be great...I need a little money and am wondering if it might be of any value.
