how 'bout this - if you had to play a country/rock gig with just ONE OD and it had to be one of these - through a clean amp with delay...???

Go with the FD2...used by Keith Urban and David Grissom
The GT500 is a distortion pedal, the FD2 is a clean boost/OD

Two very different pedals. The Fulldrive is really a single channel overdrive with a boost function. So whatever your sound is, with the boost engaged it will just add a little gain and compression. With the GT500 you have two completely separate and stackable pedals. One side being a boost (that can get dirty) the other being an overdrive/distortion.
I really like the smooth overdrive sound of the Fulldrive, and with it in comp cut mode it can be used as a great clean boost. If you could only switch from the clean boost sound to overdrive with the click of a footswitch. But there is a fair amount of knob turning and toggle switching to go between the two. On the GT500 I liked the boost side, but I just couldn't dial in the distortion fully to my liking. It was too grainy for me. I really wanted to like the GT500 since it makes for such a versatile pedal, but it just didn't do it for me. Now for others' tastes and rigs it could be great. I guess I just like more compressed overdrives like the Fulldrive and Barber pedals.
