OK on my Bogen MX60 I want to put in 2 quarter inch jacks and change it from low to high Impedence. These amps use the Low Impedence Transformers. I just got two 9 pin plugs from a guy to change it over to high impedence. This is what he sent me:
You need to replace the transformer with a jumper plug for high impedance. I don't have the MX-60 schematic, but I assume its the same transformers as the MX-30. You need a 9 pin octal plug and it has pins 2-5 and 8-9 are jumpered together.
Ok he sent me two of these plug already jumpered so on to the 3 pin male jacks which has the wireing set up as so. If you look at the back of the jack there is a Coaxial wire with the center wire going to the pin that is on the left top and the ground wire is grounded to the chassis with the right pin going to ground also. The bottom pin has a wire going to the low impedence socket. If looking from the front of the jack of course the left and right pins would be reversed with the right pin going to the socket as the positive wire and the left pin grounded. So that is the wireing depending on how you look at the jack. So any one mess with these and I would suspect the plus wire of the coaxial cable will go to the plus of hte quarter inch jack and the ground of course is ground but what about that wire for the 3rd pin then on the bottom Where does that go? Or do you just cap it off.
