Dust Cap Adhesive--HELP!

The dust cap on my bass speaker crumbled because of age. I'm looking for a replacement but my concern is what adhesive to use in installing the new one. Would white glue be enough?

Also, I can't remove the rest of the dust cap that remained stuck on the cone. Any tips? If I can get a bigger cap, I would just cover that.

I've used thick super glue or epoxy with good results but obviously you have to be neat and careful and not get any glue in the voice coil gap.
