Help with Danelectro pickups...

I am re-wiring a Danelectro DC 59 into standard (i.e. modern) Telecaster wiring. Simple, right? Well, the Dano pickup have THREE leads from them! The ground (of course), a red, and a white lead. IIRC, Danos were originally wired in series, but how would I wire these into a 1 vol., 1 tone sustem with a gibbo style 3-way selector? Can anyone set me straight?

those wires should just be the hot and ground leads from the coil, along with an extra lead from the metal housing, which will always be grounded.
