Watch out guys. It was offered up to me first...top has a replacement circle of wood the size of a small soda bottle....by pure miracle it appears inside the reflection on the picture shown (so you can't see it).

I emailed the seller telling him he needs to point that out.....but know it. I have the pics if anyone is interested in the guitar but wants to see it.

I e-mailed him and asked if the guitar had ANY repair work done....he was vague to say the least....he mentioned that he heard some sort of work was done at a later date by Mr. Olson himself....but didn't know what the work involved.

Tim, I did the same thing---Asked if any work had been done to the top, if the guitar needed any work, why no photos of the top, etc. Got the same kind of answers, too. "The top was damaged during construction, and repaired by Mr. Olson himself."

Do you think Olson would really sell a guitar new with that kind of repair? I can't imagine it.

I can't see the damage? Is it just to the left of the fret board in the full body picture.

That was EXACTLY what I thought!

You know, somehow when the comment is included in ANY auction "Not trying to rip anyone off"...well, that doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence for me...:worried

I don't think it's this guitar but I've seen a guitar that Jim patched during construction with a football shaped patch (that's what I was told). It was at guitar gallery. I never understood the whole patching thing rather than replacing the top, but apparently it's something Jim doesn't mind, and I'm sure it's fine structurally.
