So I bought an older Korean Ibanez RG450DX a few days ago at Guitar Center. It plays well and I liked how it sounded too so I put some money down, then picked it up the next day.

Well yesterday I went to adjust the trem cause after tuning it wasn't straight anymore, and the pivot screws are completely stripped! They are totally unusable. This sucks. I think I'm just going to return the guitar. What do you guys think I should do?

One more thing just to clarify, the trem wasn't going down or up, it was leaning to one side, that's why I was going to use the pivot screws.

Easy enough to replace. If they just spin in the holes, you might have to use some trickery to get them out.

At any rate, replacing them shouldn't be too tough. If they're in studs, pull the studs and replace. If they're in the wood, glue a plug in there and redrill for new ones.

If you love the way the guitar plays & sounds, keep it. If not, dump it... but the next guy might not miss the problem.
