...after reading about them and noticing that Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie has a set in his 52 reissue. I play an American Standard tele (one of the new 2008 ones), and am wondering if anyone has experience with these pickups? The pickups in the newer standards are nice too, so maybe its not worth it, but if I can get a little improvement I may at least try them. Thanks for any info.

and that's about kinda the response you'd get from them should you have a technical problem.

I'm a huge fan. I have put then in three Teles and never taken them out. I am a lifelong Tele player, a want traditional sounds with a little extra output an versatility. Both the bridge pickup and neck pickup are amazing. More output, more clarity, a little more dynamic. Does clean and mean equally well.

...i'm a long time fan and user of Harmonic Designs pickups....i use the vintage plus neck and a S-90 bridge....big output...meatier than traditional tele pups and pretty darn quiet considering their output.....i also have a HD mini-strat in a tele that i really like for its lower output strat like snarl....i've also used Z-90's in an SG...i foolishly put humbuckers back in and sold the Z-90's but i will go back tro the Z-90's at some point in the not too distant future....

I have one in my Tele in the neck position (bridge is an early 10.2K Fender Broadcaster RI) and like it alot - both alone and in parallel and series, via a 4 way, with the bridge PUP. That being said, I won't buy another HD product ever again for reasons I ain't gonna go into on this forum.

I have a Super 90 in my 52 ri (bridge position) and also own a Vintage+ neck and Mini Strat neck. They are WONDERFUL pickups, especially the Super 90. I think dealing with Scott can be a pain in the ass at times, but he's never done me wrong to date. He does respond to emails and some phone calls, but you have to be patient.

YMMV,

Someone responded to my e-mail inquiry very quickly, but didnt really give much of an answer, just saying "read the description on our site."

...well yeah, I already did. Thats why I asked for more info...right?

But should I be cautious?

Another fan of Harmonic Design.

I've got 3 S90's,in the bridge position of 2 Strats & 1 Tele. Fat with clarity,love 'em.

I also had a pr of Z90's in a Doublecut LP. Great pickups;sold them when I traded that guitar.

I would love to try his P90's (VP90),and regular Humbucker.

The thing all the pickups had in common, was increased output, with a sparkly highend. Usually, those two are mutually exclusive, but not with the HD's I've had.

No problems at all with ordering...each time took about 4 weeks, and my credit card wasn't charged untill the pickups shipped.

From my experience, all positives...go for it!
