What's the buzz?

Recently I attempted my first guitar adjustment ever on my archtop. I was curious to see what would happen to the tone as I raised and lowered the pu's. In itself, that was not a problem. But now I have buzzing issues. I believe they are cause by the pickguard, which is elevated (not connected to the guitar body except by struts) on this model (Ibanez Artcore AF105). The pickup casing is very snug up against the guard and I believe the guard is vibrating sympathetically. Anyway, I'm not sure how to proceed. I need help in deciding whether to attempt a fix myself or take it in for professional treatment. Opinions?

This is not advice based on that guitar.

But, remove the pickguard. No question then about it rattling. You might like the guitar better that way, too.
Or, just wedge some spongy material under the pickguard to damp vibration.
You may just have to loosen, wiggle and remount the guard.
There's always duct tape. !!
