8.5 pounds of fun
This is my third R8 in a year . . . the weight as well as all the little "issues"
keeps putting me off about these but man . . nothing sounds like a real LP. Hopefully I'll be able to get along with this one.
Not really fond of the faded cherry, but I used a little lemon oil and the VOS dullness went away . . . much more glossy now.

its lovely, there is something about these "plain" ones... the flame top ones i love to but sometimes it seems to take your eye away from the beauty of the original design.
enjoy

Congrats again! Best guitar in the world, in my opinion.

If you get rid of this R8 you should try a Standard Faded, they are awesome and they don't break your back.

Thanks guys !
Regarding the sound . . .I have to say it sounds like it has more character than my preious 2. Fuller, fatter yet with the great edge.

Dankayaker.... I've got my third R8 for the year coming to me (hopefully by the end of the week). I'm hoping for a really fat sounding one. Looking at yours makes me more impatient. Play it in good health.

Dare I ask what the "issues" are with the Historics? I'm looking for a R8 or something similar but have none to play locally. I might have to have Steve from Wildwood pick one for me. What issues does this guitar have?
It looks great and makes me want one more.
Dan,
Your original pic above about says it all for me.
Desire of a different kind, but still...almost as sweet.
NICE to come home to!

Over at the LP forum they can tell you more, but what I've experienced is nuts slots too shallow, ABR bridge rattles, tuning instability. All easily fixed and not always neccessary fixes. Though I have not bought from Steve, I have spoken to him and he is the man IMO.

Congrats! Hopefully, this is the one. Nothing beats the tone or feel of a good LP.
