I just got a Mexican Fender Strat and I am wanting to change the pickups in them. The only set's I have tried so far in other guitars are the texas specials and Seymour Duncan 52 set. I liked both but I would like to try something a lil new. I like a nice creamy sounding neck pickup and a warmer sounding bridge pickup. It seems like all strat bridge pickups I try has an over-trebely and ice picky. I also play a wide range of styles in a cover band so I need something pretty versatile. Can anyone suggest a set for me?

I have a Lollar Blackface pups in the neck and middle of my strat and an older SD hot rails in the bridge. They sound great to me. Don't know about a creamy neck sound though.
I like a low-output set from VintageVibe. Creamy isn't an adjective I'd usually apply to Strat pickups, unless you're thinking of some really driven thick tones like Robin Trower. Pete at VintageVibe will advise and make you what you want, but you'll have to tell him what amp you're using and what exact tones you're after. He's amazingly fast and relatively inexpensive, too. My set has a humbucker in the bridge because I wanted to get a big, fat creamy sound and didn't like most bridge pickups. I'm also using a custom switching setup from Deaf-Eddie, made to my request. It's the most versatile thing I've played (not that I've played everything, mind you).

"nice creamy sounding neck pickup and a warmer sounding bridge pickup" Sounds like the Budz Crossbred set to me. Give them a shot and I doubt you'll be disappointed ;)
