My brother in laws Uncle is building these guitars here in Wisconsin. He brought it over Saturday for me to check out. I was pretty impressed. With Duncan Blackout actives, it's not for the faint of heart! But it cleans up suprisingly well. I told him about TGP and he asked me to post a pic just to get comments and opinions on it. He and his partner are working on a website that should be up in a few weeks.

No, i'm not affiliated or being compensated. He's been developing this guitar for a while and just wants honest opinions, good or bad.

Magnesium????

Stay away from stage pyrotechnics unless you are looking for some unique incendiary lighting effects.

I like it. But that pointy part on the very end of the headstock has gotta go. I can see myself hitting that on something--or somebody! And yeah, he must like Rics (who doesn't?) Is it a neck-thru? And I'd like to see the neck joint--a very important feature of any guitar for me.

I like it. what are the basic specs and whats the price range?

It's different and I like different seeing as I just bought a Tokai Talbo, an all aluminum guitar with a traditional wood neck.

Rick meets Yamaha, with just a little dash of BC Rich.

Really it's not my style at all, but I do have to give him credit for some style. Even though there are few points that can be called truly original, the layout as a whole is very well put together. With a lot of distinct styles piled in to one, the lines still seem to flow together with a good continuity. The headstock and horn repeated shape is tastefully pulled off I think.

So in spite of the fact that I don't personally like it and I can't praise it as entirely original, I'd say it's very good. Distinct enough to be noticeable, yet modest and reminiscent of other classic designs. Well proportioned, nice flowing lines - if all the important qualities are good I'm sure there are folks around who would buy them.

It's the kind of shape that I think many would see and try to figure out what it is, feeling sure that they've seen in somewhere before.

First off, thanks for the opinions from everyone.

Heres what I know. Neckthru Magnesium (alloy?)with wood wings, about 9lbs, 25 1/2 scale, Kahler trem, Duncan actives, and some really cool locking tuners that tune from the back side of the headstock. I'd have to talk to him for other details.

I am really glad to see that it looks nothing at all like a Stratocaster.

It's a great looking guitar for kids playing Nu anything. Is the body thin and lightweight? The grill from the '36 Ford, may need rethinking. A simple hardtail bridge from Gotoh, Hipshot, or MannMade may be more suitable.

Asthetically, it reminds me of the concept used in the design of Blackmachines, yet the body style is mid 80s Dayon from Japan, modified to be a Bladerunner IV prop. I am too old to know if that is currently in fashion, though.

Be careful with the product shots. On an indifferent glance, one could imagine that the stand is actually a reverse thruster. It does look kewl. I will hold out for the blood drip version.

Good luck to him. If he can get it in the hands of kids on the side stages of the, 'I don't have a summer job, fest', he may be in business.

Warren Cuccurullo had a double neck "joined with a U" magnesium neck guitar back in the 80's, if I'm not mistaken.

I like it a lot - guitars which look comfortable to play sitting down, always appeal to me.
I love the idea of those locking tuners which obviates the need for a locknut - the normal companion of the Kahler.
More pics and details please
Any other options e.g. lefthanded ?

...Or a Tele...or a Les Paul. So, that's a HUGE thumbs up! Those shapes are so damn played out- there are alot more interesting shapes that can be made.

I think it's a bit too pointy for anyone who isn't totally into heavy metal.
Seems cool, but i suggest something a little more stripped down and less pointy and lots of folks will drool and want one.

It's not my thing, but it is nice to see builders trying to get out of the classic designs.

It has a little bit of Tyler UW looks to it.
