i'm having a heckofatimebrownie with setting the bridge pickup height on me strat. i think it matches the neck as far as volume but i can't really tell because i think i perceive the neck to be louder because it is so much fuller sounding.

when playing at higher gain, it sounds like i lose some volume when switching to the bridge. the problem is i can't tell if i'm actually losing volume or just think i am because it's sound is so much thinner than the neck. CS '69s.

egads! any tips or tricks?

The bride pup is thinner sounding and should be closer to the strings than the other two pups. Try wiring the tone to the bridge pup. I don't like the bridge position on Strats no matter what.

It's 'impossible' to adjust the same eq properly for neck and bridge unless you want that sound, of course. Sounds like don't. Hence, the huge aftermarket for pups.
