Hi. I had my amp worked on by 'Swarty'--Tim Swartz is his name. He lives in outside of Lansing MI and is a great guy who 'knows amps'. He`s a member here so you should be able to easily get his 'contact info'. Again, i can`t recommend him enough! Give him a 'shout'!

What those guys said: Swarty's a nice guy, trustworthy, knows his stuff. Might be a little further away than you wanted but worth it.

Dean fixed my 1974X not long ago. Now it sounds fantastic again. He did however do some work to my Traynor(just got it this past weekend)without my consent(added his MV kit), and I wasn't very happy about it. for that reason, I won't be going to him anymore.
Not unhappy with the actual work performed, unhappy he did it without asking, and I specifically told him to call me if the amp needed anything other than a bias, which was all it was there for.

....adding a MV without even asking if you wanted it or not? Quite an unprofessional move, if you ask me. Sure there wasn't some/any mis-communication with him on that?

Unprofessional and unforgivable. I know that amp. There WERE 4 very distinct channels that were custom created. I`d make him put it back EXACTLY the way it was.

I was pretty clear up front what I wanted and that if he felt it needed anything else, etc., to call me first.
I was so upset I just paid for it and left. I didn't say anything. I didn't want to start anything or have any problems. I just won't be going there again.
For the record though, he is a great tech and has done great work on my amps in the past.

I had some work done on my 1976 Champ by Dean Zink who is located in Keego Harbor. I was very pleased with the work he did and his rate was reasonable too.
