Mrs. V in the hospital...

I am posting this message on Vinni's behalf for those of you who know Vinni and Mrs. V of V-Picks.

Mrs. V has been in the hospital since Saturday about 100 miles from the Smith's home. She has been dealing with an infection in intensive care and we are all hoping she will be home soon.

In the meantime, a few of his friends are keeping the V-Pick business running as best as we can. As you know, Vinni and Mrs. V are re-knowned for their wonderful customer service.

This great service might be a bit compromised for a short while.

For those who may have orders pending, please be patient as orders may run a few days later than would have been normally expected.

Please keep Nancy (Mrs. V) and Vinni in your prayers.

I JUST TALKED TO VINNI ON THE PHONE...

He said that Nancy is still on oxygen and I.V. They are pretty certain that it is a strain of blood-borne strep viral infection that she is fighting. She is doing better after a number of days of doing not-so-well. Vinni says that Nancy had a bicycle incident a couple months ago wherein she injured her knee and that it is still swollen a bit. He is hoping that the infection started at that abrasion. The doctors have narrowed the strain down to where they think they have a good antibiotic to start her on (they have tried a couple others on her that had limited effect).

Nancy is looking much better and they are guessing she may come home in five days or so.

Both Nancy and Vinni really, really, really appreciate the thoughts, mojo, and PRAYERS from you all. Vinni has mentioned many times how he is blessed with so many great and valued friends (however virtual, yet still real in a real sense) that he has here on TGP. If you knew them as well as I do, you would truly appreciate the Godly people that they are, and they really do deserve all the health, success and happiness. On their behalf, thanks for caring and for being such good friends!

....'had lunch with Vinni this afternoon, Mrs. V continues to get better after a slight digression yesterday. Her temperature temporarily went up for a while in the morning but the doctor said that was a normal event as the antibiotics do their thing. There was also some concern at one point that her blood platelet count was too low and they were considering a transfusion. The count began showing improvement before they actually made the decision to do any transfusions, so hopefully the count will continue in the right direction and she is "out of the woods" in that situation. I didn't go into the hospital to see Nancy as she was napping while we were at lunch so I don't know if her beauty has diminished much, but Vinni looks like a mess. When he came out to my car, I actually thought he might be someone about to panhandle me. (I hope Vin doesn't see this, but oh well).

Bottom line...Nancy seems to be progressing back to health bit-by-bit and day-by-day, so that is good. Vinni seems more optimistic than he's been since she came down with this condition. He still appreciates the support you have all shown, thanks so much for that!

Hello everyone, Vinni here.

Well, Mrs V took a good turn for the better last evening at 7:00PM. I prayed for a miracle yesterday. I asked God for it and he gave it to us! All of a sudden last evening, she started talking and talking and smiling. It was a great sight indeed!

I have told her that John started this thread and she is very gratefull to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I wish to thank John for driving down to Fresno, 2 hours away and supporting us. He is a kind soul indeed.

The doctors are not sure what has happened. Some more tests have are in the works but I am not sure they will have a sure answer. It is not a open and closed situation. She was seen today by an infectious disease doctor and he was puzzled as were the others.

I am in hope that we can bring Nancy home at the first part of the week, however, I do want her to stay there every bit as long as she needs to be there. I kind of feel like I did when I brought home my first child from the hospital. Plenty of nerves and questions. It will be wonderfull having her here at home though. I love her more than anything in this world and always have.

I drove home today to pay some bills and tie up some loose ends. I plan to stay home for the weekend and then go back either Sunday evening or maybe even Monday morning. I am looking forward to getting some R&R.

I want to tell you all how much we appreciate your love and caring attitudes and comments. You are all good friends and that is what our lives should be consisting of. Guitars, amps, cars, houses are really all very nice, but friends, family and God are what really matters in the end.
